The Challenge of “Slow” Collecting

I have long been a fan of all the “slows”.  Slow food, slow flowers, slow fashion, slow tourism, etc. as these represent a thoughtful and intentional way of viewing and navigating the world. I would like to add one more “slow” to the list: slow collecting.

As a committed thrifter, while I do know better, slowly building a personal world filled with things that make me happy just to look at them is a challenge. Yes, scoring one fabulous piece is a memorable moment; leaving with a full cart is so much better.

Or is it?
